A 5-Week Sacred Walkabout Course
we keep our eyes on the night:
reviving the indigenous mind
guided by tayria ward ph.d.
“What do you do when you are in your huts at night? Do you watch TV?”The man answered, with a slight but respectful amusement:
“No. We keep our eyes on the night.”
this phrase has become iconic for tayria…
Spending time in africa with the … tribe
Initiated for tayria a journey into the quality of mind and attention that has been lost to us.
The ability to communicate with every element of life and matter, in earth and stars, is genetically coded into the human.
It is our original psychic endowment, patterned into our creation at the cellular level.
This capacity of mind and thinking is indigenous to every single human.
And over 5-life changing weeks Tayria will guide you home to these original, ancient terrains of your psyche and life.

“It is now possible for us to remember, to awaken, to reclaim the origins in consciousness that in earlier times were available to us. The same colossal creativity that imagined and manifested plants, trees, bugs, birds, lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants and humans is who we are at the deepest roots of our being.”~ Dr. Tayria Ward, Ph.D
about tayria ward, ph.d.
Tayria Ward has a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology, worked for 20 years as a minister, and later taught as a professor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She now supports people on a profound psychological and spiritual quest through dream analysis, depth psychological and spiritual mentoring, as well as through retreats, dream groups, vision quests, online classes, and regular lectures and interviews on a wide variety of subjects.
Along with her current major interest in recovering the value of working with our dreams and understanding the nature of the Dreamtime, Tayria’s doctoral work led her into a passion for the study of the ways of sensing and knowing carried by Indigenous peoples, past and present. Her dissertation is entitled Reawakening Indigenous Sensibilities in the Western Psyche.
Tayria believes our connection with the intelligent voices of the non-human world and those of the invisible world has been undervalued and often severed, to the detriment of our health psychologically, emotionally, physically, socially, and environmentally. Tayria’s work is devoted to helping recover this connection and restore this health. One of her major tools in working with individuals and groups is the messaging system found in the dreams of the night.
She has written down her own dreams and worked with them consistently since the age of 24. She has studied the world’s religions avidly, worked intensively with shamans from Africa and a variety of other traditions, studied the theories of Carl Jung for decades, including completing her doctorate in Depth Psychology, and spent many years in the analysis of her own dreams with some of the finest Jungian analysts.
What students say about Tayria's work:“I loved Tayria’s beautiful class with her unique teaching style, through story sharing! Each week, her classes made me feel relaxed, and ready to get cozied up to hear her various antidotal tales. I love her as a person, her sheer authenticity shines through her lovely eyes. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing all of her stories and what she received by going through her many trials and tribulations, she’s quite remarkable and so inspiring! She’s a wise women someone I highly look up to, but feel fully comfortable being around if I had an opportunity to be in person listening to her shares. Great Job 👏 and Kathleen too was intrinsic with her assistance. Thank you”
